The Tax Collector is a 2020 American action thriller film about two enforcers, David (Bobby Soto) and Creeper (Shia LaBeouf), who work for a Los Angeles crime lord named Wizard (George Lopez). The “tax collectors” collect a cut of the profits from local gangs’ illegal activities. When Wizard’s old rival returns to Los Angeles from Mexico, David must fight for his family and his life.

David Ayer wrote, directed, and produced the film, which also stars Cinthya Carmona as Alexis and Chelsea Rendon as Lupe. Although the film is not based on real characters or events, Ayer drew inspiration from his own experiences and added episodes from the lives of some cast members.
